Year's Best Mom is ready to be an Empty Nester . . .
 Abby
was brought to the York SPCA and gave birth to five kittens the same
night. A few days later we took Abby and her babies in to The Animal
House. Abby has been a spectacular mom; all her kittens were well cared for and grew up happy and healthy. Some have already been adopted and the others will be leaving shortly.
Typically, our adult females are still in foster care long after their
kittens are gone. We understand the allure of a little kitten, but they don't stay kittens for long. Abby is a
wonderful cat -- calm and loving and gentle. She loves to be petted,
uses the litterbox without fail, and is quite beautiful. (Her picture
doesn't do her justice.) Abby seems very young; we doubt she's much more
than a year or two old. We don't know how long she was outside or
whether this was her first litter, but we know it is her last and that
she will make a wonderful companion to a family that appreciates adult
cats. Abby is used to living with a small dog. She was a little leery at first, but that was when she was looking out for her kittens, and she soon got used to having the dog around. She is also fine with other cats.
Please don't make Abby wait months after her last kitten leaves. Let her know now that she is wanted.
The adoption donation for Abby is $80. She is spayed, up to date on shots and has tested negative for FeLV and FIV.
If you can't adopt but would like to sponsor Abby or any of our other available cats, please click the link below. Be sure to fill in the comment on the donation page telling us which cat you are sponsoring. Sponsorship donations are used to offset medical expenses and/or the adoption donation amount for the sponsored cat.
